The tour starts at the centrally located Beursplein square, where an expert English-speaking guide will be waiting to help you discover Amsterdam in a different way, mixing a bit of history, curious anecdotes and a lot of humor.
At the end of the 2.5 hour tour, you will have seen the main sights of Amsterdam and will have a comprehensive understanding of how a small fishing village on the banks of the Amstel River grew to become the capital of the Netherlands and one of the most prosperous cities in Europe.
From its controversial stance on issues such as the legalization of drugs and prostitution, to the terrible era of the Nazi occupation and its victims, such as Anne Frank, a promising young writer who tragically lost her life in a concentration camp.
Did you know that the world's first stock exchange was established in Amsterdam? Apart from learning the most relevant facts about this city, you will stroll through the most beautiful streets and cafes of the lively Jordaan district, while admiring the most beautiful canals of Amsterdam.
You will walk through the Jewish Quarter and see attractions and sights such as Anne Frank's house, the Nieuwmarkt (New Market), the Red Light District and the Amsterdam Museum. You will discover small hidden Catholic churches and admire the Royal Palace, as well as monuments to tolerance such as the Homomonument.
At the end of the tour, you will receive a ticket for a 1-hour boat ride on the canals. You can do this immediately after the tour or at any other time during your stay in Amsterdam. Includes audio guides in 17 languages.
