Come and discover the main modernist symbols of Barcelona and Gaudí's universe in this free walking tour where you will appreciate an unparalleled architectural heritage.
We will start the tour in Plaza Catalunya to approach the famous Block of Discord, located on Paseo de Gràcia. In this very same block several of the modernist jewels of Barcelona are concentrated: the Lleó Morera house, by Domènech i Montaner, the Casa Amatller by Puig i Cadafalch and the famous Casa Batlló, designed by Gaudí.
Apart from learning the story of how three of the most famous architects of their time competed to build the most beautiful building on Passeig de Gràcia, you will discover how and why modernism flourished in Barcelona, as well as the origin of its peculiar forms.
During the tour, your guide will also explain about the Cerdà Plan, which paved the way for the creaton of Barcelona's characteristic Eixample district, and we will see other nearby monuments such as La Pedrera or Casa Milà, also by Gaudí.
Next, we will take the metro to see the most iconic monument of Barcelona: the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's masterpiece.
Once there, you will be able to marvel at this impressive work as we take a walk around the temple to get to know the intricate details of the facade and learn about the symbolism behind each element.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. the tour ends in front of the Sagrada Familia.
