Itinerary
After meeting your guide at Barnardo Square—next to City Hall—you’ll begin the tour by visiting two of Dublin’s most important churches: Christ Church Cathedral and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the largest church in Ireland, built in 1191 in honor of the country’s patron saint.
This essential Dublin free tour continues at the Ha’Penny Bridge, a 43-meter-long pedestrian bridge over the River Liffey, once famous for the love locks couples left behind (now prohibited!). Here, you’ll learn about the many bridges that give the city its unique charm.
Next, your guide will take you to Trinity College, Ireland’s oldest university, where you’ll hear the story of its renowned library and the secrets behind the Book of Kells. You’ll also pass by City Hall, built between 1769 and 1779, and dive into Dublin’s past—from Viking invasions to nearly 800 years of English rule.
No tour would be complete without a stop in Temple Bar, home to the iconic pub of the same name. You’ll soak up the city’s vibrant atmosphere among its many pubs and restaurants. Did you know the legendary Irish band U2 started performing here? You’ll pass the Clarence Hotel—owned by the band—and uncover fun and fascinating stories hidden in the cobbled streets.
The tour ends at Dublin Castle and its gardens, once the seat of British government until 1922, where you’ll hear more captivating tales.
