Itinerary

On this Essential Dubrovnik Free Tour, you’ll walk through cobbled streets between walls dating back to the 13th and 16th centuries, while learning about the history of a city rebuilt after the devastating 1667 earthquake.

The tour begins at Luža Square, in front of Orlando’s Column, where you’ll hear all about the Old Town and why it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. From there, your guide will take you to the Church of St. Blaise, built in 1715 and dedicated to the city’s patron saint.

Next, you’ll stroll down Stradun, Dubrovnik’s most famous street, lined with shops, bars, and restaurants. You’ll notice it stretches through the city from the Pile Gate to the Ploče Gate, ancient entrances to the walls.

Did you know Dubrovnik’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site? Its architectural and monumental beauty has earned it the nickname "The Pearl of the Adriatic."

You’ll then head to Onofrio’s Fountain, a central meeting point in Dubrovnik, built in the 15th century and still supplying the city with drinking water. Afterward, your guide will take you to the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and a beautiful 14th-century Gothic courtyard.

The tour continues to the Church of St. Ignatius, where you’ll walk up the Jesuit Staircase and learn its connection to "Game of Thrones." You’ll then make your way to Gundulić Square, where you’ll find a traditional market with local products, before reaching Dubrovnik Cathedral, the largest temple in the city that houses the relics of St. Blaise.

Next, you’ll walk to the Rector’s Palace, one of the city’s most important buildings and now home to the Museum of History. You’ll also pass by the Sponza Palace, built in 1521, and the Dominican Monastery (which took two centuries to complete), where you’ll continue learning about the city’s history.

The itinerary ends at Revelin, next to the Ploče Gate, one of Dubrovnik’s four impressive fortresses, offering amazing views. A complete, enjoyable, and interesting tour!
