Get ready for an unforgettable experience with the guided tour of the Accademia Gallery. After meeting your English-speaking guide at the designated meeting point, you will enter the museum with priority access.
You will immediately begin to enjoy a journey through the paintings and sculptures that defined the artistic canons of the Italian Renaissance. You will listen to explanations about Michelangelo, one of the main representatives of this movement and an artist ahead of his time.
You will see with your own eyes his most famous sculpture: The David, and learn why it is considered one of the greatest works of art in history. In addition, you will learn about his marble carving technique, as well as other of his masterpieces such as San Matteo and the Pietà of Palestrina.
The Accademia Gallery exhibits works by various Florentine artists from the 14th to the 16th century, including sculptures by Lorenzo Bartolini, as well as one of the most important collections of Italian painting between the 13th and early 15th centuries, extending to the late Gothic, with works by Botticelli, Ghirlandaio and Lippi, among others.
The tour lasts about 1.5 hours, but after it concludes, you’re welcome to stay in the gallery to explore further at your own pace.
