Itinerary
This tour will take you exploring Florence, an open-air city/museum, where every street tells a story of art, culture, and history. None other than the birthplace of the Renaissance!
You'll begin admiring the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Giotto’s Bell Tower, two of the city’s most famous landmarks. From there, you’ll head to the Piazza della Repubblica, a vibrant square known for its elegant arcades, lively cafés, and street artists. This square has been a meeting place for artists and writers for centuries, with popular cafés like Caffé Gilli, Caffé Paszkowski, and Caffé della Giubbe Rosse.
After soaking in the atmosphere, you’ll walk through more of Florence’s charming streets, where your guide will share fascinating anecdotes. You’ll make your way to the Loggia del Mercato Nuovo, a picturesque market where you can find leather goods and the famous statue of Il Porcellino, which locals believe brings good luck.
Next, you’ll visit Ponte Vecchio, one of the most famous bridges in the world and the oldest stone bridge in Europe. Learn about its rich history and discover why it was the only bridge to survive WWII bombings.
As you continue through Florence, you’ll pass the Accademia dei Georgofili and Piazzale degli Uffizi, leading you to Piazza della Signoria. This open-air museum is dominated by the grand Palazzo Vecchio and the Loggia dei Lanzi, where you’ll find masterpieces like Cellini’s Perseus and Giambologna’s Rape of the Sabine Women.
The tour ends in Piazza San Giovanni, home to the breathtaking Duomo, Brunelleschi’s Dome, the Baptistery, and Giotto’s Bell Tower.
