Florence to Tuscany Day Trip: Siena, Monteriggioni, and San Gimignano with Wine Tasting

Get ready for a day full of stunning views and charming towns on this tour from Florence. You’ll travel comfortably by luxury coach, visiting some of Tuscany’s most beautiful spots, including Monteriggioni, Siena, and San Gimignano, plus a stop at a classic Chianti vineyard.

The adventure starts as we head south from Florence into the Tuscan hills and vineyards. Our first stop is the lovely town of Monteriggioni, famous for its well-preserved medieval walls and towers. You’ll have time to stroll around and take in the beautiful views of vineyards, farms, and castles.

Next, we’ll head to Siena, a breathtaking medieval city known for its red-brick buildings, Gothic town hall, and the towering Mangia Tower.

Once in Siena, you’ll join a 1-hour guided tour in English. Your guide will take you through its famous landmarks like the stunning cathedral, the Piazza del Campo (where the Palio horse race takes place every year), and the Piazza Duomo.

Afterward, you’ll have around two hours of free time to relax, grab lunch, or explore more on your own.

Following Siena, we’ll make our way to a traditional Chianti winery. Here, you’ll enjoy a wine tasting and sample some local appetizers, including olive oil and local delicacies.

Finally, we’ll head to San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its medieval towers and charming streets. You’ll have time to wander through the historic center, visit the Duomo di San Gimignano, and explore the famous Piazza della Cisterna.

The tour wraps up with a return to Florence, roughly 10 to 11 hours after departure.
