Hiroshima and Miyajima Day Trip with Itsukushima Shrine

We will begin by exploring the poignant Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. This place, steeped in history, is home to the Peace Memorial, the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome and several monuments that pay tribute to the victims of the 1945 bombing. Walking through this space invites you to reflect on the resilience of the Japanese people.

We will then board a ferry to the enchanting island of Miyajima. Known for its impressive floating torii, this island offers a dreamlike sight, especially at high tide when the torii seems to levitate above the water. 

We will visit Itsukushima Shrine, a 6th century architectural jewel and World Heritage Site, which rises majestically above the sea. We will walk along its wooden walkways and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings, where it is common to find deer roaming freely, considered messengers of the gods according to Shinto tradition.

You will have free time to enjoy lunch on your own in Miyajima, where you can sample local specialties, such as the famous Miyajima oysters and momiji manju.

After soaking up the magic of Miyajima, we will take the ferry back, giving us a unique perspective of the coastline and the iconic torii from the water and ending an adventure that will change your perception of Japan's history.
