Itinerary
Lisbon is much more than its most famous monuments, traditional neighborhoods and fado, and with this free tour you will discover its more alternative side. You will get to know the contrasts of the old city in the most important places of the Mouraria and Graça neighborhoods, along with the most current projects of its street art, all in the same 2.5 hour free walking tour.
The tour starts at Martim Moniz Square, one of the most important squares in Lisbon and the starting point of the emblematic streetcar 28. This public space is the ideal prelude to enter the Mouraria neighborhood, one of the most multicultural districts in Lisbon, where more than 70 nationalities coexist.
Next we will arrive at one of the most important open-air galleries in Lisbon: the Caracol da Graça. This steep street has impressive works by street artists such as Thiago Gomms, Utopia or Akacorleone. At the top of this hill, we will reach one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Lisbon: the miradouro de Graça, where we will stop to admire the view and take photos.
Already in this district, you will see the houses built in the early twentieth century to house factory workers. We will continue admiring the work of VHILS and Farey, one of the most essential murals in Lisbon.
As we approach the end of the tour, we will approach the Botto Machado Garden, right in front of Lisbon's Pantheon, where you will see the most famous tile work of André Saraiva, also known as Mr. A. Depending on the day, the tour may end at the Nossa Senhora do Monte viewpoint, where you will see another unforgettable panoramic view of Lisbon.
Apart from knowing many of Lisbon's alternative places, we will give you tips to visit other places that may also be of interest to you.
