The ruins of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, the only active volcano in mainland Europe, are two incredible places to visit in Campania on a day trip from Naples. Join a guided tour in English and discover the fascinating history of Pompeii and the Vesuvius crater, the world’s most dangerous volcano.
On this tour, we’ll take care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy the experience. You’ll travel in a comfortable air-conditioned car or minivan, skip the lines at both Pompeii and Vesuvius, have a guide with you throughout, and enjoy a tasty pizza with a drink for lunch.
We’ll pick you up from your hotel (see pick-up points below) and give you a quick overview of the day’s schedule. Then, we’ll head to Pompeii, the first stop. This ancient city was buried by volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, and now it offers a fascinating glimpse into daily life in ancient times. The guide will show you key sites like the Roman Forum, the Baths, and the Brothel.
At 12:00, the tour will end with a delicious pizza and drink at a historic restaurant in Pompeii.
After lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Mount Vesuvius. Thanks to our priority access, we’ll skip the wait and head straight to the top. There, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the bay and learn about the volcano’s eruptions from our guide. The most famous eruption, as you may know, was in 79 AD, which destroyed Pompeii, while the last eruption took place on March 18, 1944, during World War II.
Once we finish the Vesuvius tour, we’ll take a short break before heading back to Naples, full of memories and stories you won’t forget.
