Itinerary
After picking you up at your accommodation, we'll start by heading to Guimarães, known as the “cradle of Portugal” and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, we will stroll through its charming old town with a medieval air, full of cobblestone alleys and flowered balconies.
We will go up to the Guimarães Castle, where the country's history began, and then enter the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, a stately building with a fairytale air.
After enjoying a typical Portuguese lunch in a local restaurant accompanied by a traditional green wine, we will continue to Braga, known as Portugal's oldest city and its religious capital.
Braga is a city that combines centuries of history with a vibrant energy. Our first stop will be in the historic center to see the Braga Cathedral, cross under the Arco da Porta Nova and stroll along the Rua do Souto, full of cafes, squares and local life.
The tour culminates with one of its highlights: a visit to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, with its famous zigzag staircase, surrounded by gardens, sculptures and breathtaking views.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site will captivate you with its profound spirituality and dazzling architecture. We will explore its serene gardens and surrounding natural environment before ascending the majestic baroque staircase, known as the Via Sacra, with its impressive 573 steps. This climb will lead you to one of the most photographed churches in the world.
Situated on top of a hill, the Bom Jesus do Monte will reward you with a breathtaking panoramic view of the beautiful city of Braga and its surroundings. An ideal experience to discover the heritage of two of the most historic cities in Portugal.
