Poças is one of the few Port wineries that was born 100% Portuguese and after more than 100 years of history, it still is. They have three quintas in the Douro Demarcated Region, the oldest documented area of viticulture in the world.
Wine tasting in one of the best wineries in Oporto
During your visit you will feel the unmistakable aroma of a Port wine cellar. There you will learn all the details about the production of this wine, its unmistakable properties and of course, how to taste this unique wine which is not found anywhere else in the world.
In the initial part of the guided tour at the Poças winery, you will see the cellar where the wines have been ageing for over 100 years, while hearing what makes the Douro Demarcated Region, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001, so special. These rooms house more than 800 barrels where the most prized wines of the Poças wineries are aged.
We will then move on to the tasting room to start the port wine tasting. You will discover the different nuances and the perfect pairing of this fortified wine. In this Premium wine tasting, you will taste the following DOC Douro table wines, as well as other types of Port wines:
