After checking in and meeting your guide at the meeting point at Porto’s historic city center, you’ll hop on a minibus en route to the coastal city of Aveiro.
Known as “the Venice of Portugal”, Aveiro is a city intersected by canals which features picturesque canals and outstanding examples of Art Nouveau architecture.
Aveiro
Once in Aveiro, we will start this half day tour with an interesting walking guided tour of its historic center. You’ll be able to witness how the old and the new blend make a very charming contrast, from the stunning Art Nouveau residences to the beautiful Aveiro Cathedral (Sé de Aveiro). Founded in 1423, it was built in Baroque style and it was declared a National Monument.
Did you know that Aveiro is one of the member cities of the "Réseau Art Nouveau Network", along other cities like Barcelona, La Habana, Brussels, and Riga? You’ll get to admire the rich architectural details and the history of the Art Nouveau movement in Portugal.
Moliceiro boat ride
Next, you’ll enjoy a 45-minute ride on a traditional Moliceiro boat through the city’s canals. Your guide will provide insight about its history and the former use of the canals.

Costa Nova
After the cruise ride, your guide will take you to Costa Nova, a striking white sand beach, famous for its colorful fishermen’s houses, traditionally painted with vertical stripes of different tones.
We’ll return to Porto, arriving at the historical city center around 1:00 pm (morning tour) or around 6:00 pm if you choose the afternoon tour.
