Itinerary
We start at the iconic Old Town Square, where the Astronomical Clock steals the show, you’ll learn the mechanics, the figures’ symbolism, and the legends tourists whisper about every hour. Nearby, the twin spires of the Church of Our Lady before Týn set a dramatic medieval backdrop.
A short, scenic walk brings us to the Rudolfinum, an elegant concert hall that has hosted some of Prague’s most important musical moments. From here we’ll admire the House at the Black Madonna, a striking chapter in Czech cubism, an architectural style that translates painting into building.
Our route continues through the Klementinum, a baroque complex with an extraordinary library and astronomical past, and the Karolinum, the historic university heart where scholars have gathered for centuries. We’ll share small curiosities: secret reading rooms, old observatory tales and the students’ colorful myths.
At the Estates Theatre we pause to imagine the theatre nights of the 18th century and Mozart’s connection to the city. Then we enter Josefov, the Jewish Quarter, its streets shift tone, and the tour becomes a thoughtful journey into centuries of community life.
In Josefov we’ll visit the Old-New Synagogue, a living medieval gem, and the Spanish Synagogue with its luminous Moorish-inspired interior. We’ll also pass the Old Jewish Cemetery and explain the customs, resilience, and culture that persisted here in spite of hardship.
Along the way we point out medieval merchant alleys like Ungelt (Týnský dvůr) and wrap up in a reflective spot where we talk about Kafka, Jan Hus and the rulers who left their mark on Prague. The guide closes with curated tips: where to eat, what to see next, and how to keep exploring like a local.
