Itinerary

We will meet at the agreed time in the Plaza del Azoguejo, once the market square of Segovia, to start the tour of the sites and monuments that are a must in this beautiful city. 1 h 45 min full of history, art and lots and lots of architecture.

The first thing we will see is the Aqueduct of Segovia, a Roman aqueduct that brought water to the Spanish city of Segovia until 1973. In front of this imposing infrastructure we will tell you about its history, origins and what it means to the people of Segovia today. Did you know that its construction dates back to the beginning of the 2nd century AD?

Then, we will walk to the Casa de los Picos, a building with a very curious facade (you will understand why that name), and the emblematic Plaza Mayor, located in the old town. It is surrounded by restaurants and stores and is a meeting point par excellence. Along the way, we will also talk about the three Segovian cultures and their origins.

Later, we will continue through the majestic narrow streets of the city to see the exteriors of the Cathedral of Segovia, a jewel of late Spanish Gothic; the Church of San Miguel, built in stone and declared of Cultural Interest; and the Torreón de Lozoya, a sturdy and tall fortress house built in the fourteenth century.

Nearing the end of the tour, we will have the opportunity to see the exterior of the Palace of San Martin, built by Henry IV of Castile to become his residence; the Jewish quarter of Segovia, the old Jewish quarter of the city; and the Alcazar of Segovia, one of the most famous medieval castles in Spain and the world.

This experience is perfect to have a good first contact with the city, plus our guide will be able to advise you about other must-see tourist sites and restaurants where you can taste, for example, a good Segovian suckling pig or a Segovian punch.
