Venice Half Day Tour: Skip-the-Line Entrance to Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica

The guided tour “Venice in full” starts with a reconnaissance of St. Mark's Square. An expert guide will tell you about the main monuments of this famous place: St. Mark's Basilica, its impressive bell tower and the Doge's Palace. The tour includes a skip-the-line entrance to St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace. 

The tour will start towards Campo Santa Maria Formosa, where the church of the same name is located, followed by a walk through the Scuola Grande di San Marco, the Malibran Theater, the famous Mercerie, which today is the main shopping district of Venice, between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square.

We will then continue to the Doge's Palace, a masterpiece of Venetian Gothic architecture. The visit to the former seat of the Doges and symbol of the power of the Republic of Venice, includes its most amazing rooms such as the Grand Council Hall and the Duke's Apartments. You will also see the famous Bridge of Sighs and great works by Tintoretto and Tiepolo. 

You will see the interior of St. Mark's Basilica. You will understand why it is one of the most emblematic works of Byzantine architecture in the world. Also known as “the Golden Basilica” for its profusion of mosaics bathed in the precious metal, you will see in detail its greatest relics and priceless riches and the decorations of its five domes.

• Backpacks or large bags are not allowed inside the basilica.

• For the visit to the basilica, modest dress with covered shoulders is recommended.
