Discovering Venice Walking Tour

Venice is a city that instantly captures your heart, but the best way to really get to know the ancient Venetian Serenissima Republic is by learning its history.

Once you meet your guide, you'll set off on a 90-minute journey through Venice’s main landmarks and its origins.

The first stop is the St. Mark’s Square, a place that has witnessed centuries of history. Here, you'll learn how this famous square became home to some of Venice’s most important monuments, like the Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Clock Tower, and the Procuratie. (Entrance fees are not included.)

From there, we’ll walk towards the Church of Santa Maria Formosa, a beautiful 15th-century masterpiece filled with artistic treasures. Next, we’ll arrive at Campo San Giovanni e Paolo, a grand square by the Rio dei Mendicanti, where the impressive Basilica of Santi Giovanni e Paolo stands—often called the Pantheon of Venice.

As we continue, you'll see the Scuola Grande di San Marco, the former house of Marco Polo, and the Malibran Theatre, each with its own unique history. Finally, we’ll head back to St. Mark’s Square through the Mercerie, a bustling set of streets in the San Polo district, lined with shops, which makes this place perfect for a little Venetian shopping spree.
