Lisbon and Belém City Tour in Small Groups

First, meet your guide and head to the Belém Tower, a 16th-century monument on the Tagus River that used to protect Lisbon from enemy ships.

You will see that this fortress is full of details and is a key point to learn more about the history of Portuguese sailors and the maritime past of the city, not for nothing was it declared a World Heritage Site!

Nearby, we will find the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a monument that pays homage to the brave explorers who sailed unknown oceans and brought renown and wealth to Portugal in its golden age. This impressive structure, shaped like the prow of a ship, is a strong reminder of the adventurous spirit and legacy of the Portuguese nation.

You will then continue through Belém to the Jeronimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture and also a World Heritage Site. You will have the opportunity to walk through the cloisters, learn more about Portuguese art and its importance during the Age of Discoveries. Did you know that the monastery was originally erected as a church in 1495? Incredible!

From Belém, you will head towards the heart of Lisbon to tour the charming Alfama neighborhood, the oldest in the capital! You will love the maze of streets, the whitewashed houses, the balconies full of flowers. The best part? Your guide will take you to some hidden viewpoints, from where you will have amazing views of the city and the Tagus River. 

Once there, you will start exploring the most emblematic squares of the city, to feel up close that unique blend of history, culture and modern life. You will pass by the Praça do Comércio - Lisbon's most important square - where you will see numerous streetcars, while enjoying the view of the river. You will also go to the lively Rossio Square, full of bars and restaurants, until you reach Praça Marquês de Pombal, the epicenter of modern Lisbon. 

A tour that will leave you with a good taste in your mouth, as you will even taste a delicious Pastel de Belém, to complete an enjoyable experience full of history.
