What will you see on this tour?
After gathering the group at the meeting point, we will start by walking down the most famous avenue in Paris: the Champs Elysées. You will learn how it went from being one of the hills of Paris to become one of the main axes of the city and one of its most elegant thoroughfares. Next, we will take you to another Parisian icon: the Arc de Triomphe.
It is one of the symbols of Paris and is almost as well known as the Eiffel Tower, but do you know why it was built and what it represents? Your guide will explain this and much more, including the meaning of many of its thousands of inscriptions.
If you love the world of luxury, you'll love the next phase of the tour, as we pass some of the most famous brands in Paris, such as Yves Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton. We'll walk past the refined Prince de Galles Hotel, an architectural icon of Paris, and the Saint-Pierre de Chaillot Church, a historic temple that combines Roman and Byzantine influences with stunning stained glass windows.
We will also stroll and learn much more about the Parisian art world, as we will approach two trend-setting palaces-turned-museums: the Palais de Tokyo, which houses the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, and the Musée Yves Saint Laurent, which houses the work of the famous couturier.
Slowly but surely we'll get closer to the biggest monument in Paris: the Eiffel Tower. We'll take you to the spots where you'll get the best views to snap some pictures of the Iron Lady. We'll head over to the Pont de l'Alma and the Flamme de la Liberté, (without crossing the bridge). These two iconic Parisian landmarks are full of history and symbolism.
We will not leave aside great spots such as the Champ de Mars and the Trocadero Gardens, a place full of art museums and one of the best places to see the Eiffel Tower. You'll hear about the controversy surrounding its construction and how it became the biggest symbol of Paris.
After the tour, if you wish to climb the Eiffel Tower, your guide can give you tips on how to climb it and at the same time clear up any doubts about any other topic of Paris.
No doubt the Free Tour Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe will change the perception you had of Paris and you will learn explanations and stories that you will not hear anywhere else.
