Itinerary
Seville, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a city full of charm, and its historic center is the largest in Europe.
Our journey begins at the Plaza de San Francisco, historically known as Seville's old main square and one of the most ancient spots in the city. You’ll find us waiting for you near the Banco de España building—just look for the blue umbrella or our Sevilla Guias & Tours logo.
Right there in the square, we’ll take a moment to admire the Ayuntamiento de Sevilla (City Hall). It is a breathtaking example of Andalusian Plateresque architecture and stands as a major landmark of the city’s civic pride.
From there, we move toward the spiritual heart of Seville to see the Catedral de Sevilla. It’s hard to wrap your head around its scale, but this is actually the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. It’s a place of incredible history, serving as the final resting place for many figures who shaped the city's destiny. Soaring above it is the Giralda, the city’s most iconic symbol. Originally built as a minaret, this stunning bell tower offers a unique glimpse into the city’s Islamic and Christian past.
Just a few steps away, we encounter the Real Alcázar, an impressive palace complex that feels like a walk through time, blending Mudéjar, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles into one masterpiece. Nearby sits the Archivo de Indias, a true treasure trove for history buffs that houses the vast records of Spain’s complex relationship with the Americas.
As we continue our stroll, we’ll pass through Puerta de Jerez, once one of the main historic gateways into the walled city. This leads us to the Real Fábrica de Tabaco (Royal Tobacco Factory). This massive 18th-century structure was the largest industrial building in Spain; while it was famous for cigar production, it also served as the dramatic backdrop for some of Seville’s greatest operatic stories.
Finally, we’ll wrap up our tour at the magnificent Plaza de España. Built for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929, this semi-circular masterpiece shines with its mix of brick, iron, and colorful tiles. It is easily one of the most photographed spots in the city and has even served as a famous filming location for major Hollywood movies.
As you explore, you’ll learn how different cultures such as the Roman, Arab, Jewish, and Christian, have shaped Seville and made it one of Spain’s most interesting cities. Plus, you’ll discover the traditions that make this city so special.
